Ecuador joins the Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy

The Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy brings together business leaders from its member countries who are committed to fostering investment in the region and strengthening our collective supply chains.

Washington, D.C.- The Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy, (ADD+USA-BC), is pleased to announce the integration of the American Chambers of Ecuador as members of this institution. This inclusion will strengthen the commitment of the Ecuadorian private sector to economic progress, sustainable development and human rights in a climate of respect for the rules of the Rule of Law in the countries that make up the Alliance for Development in Democracy: Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama and the Dominican Republic.

"Ecuador's integration into the Council will allow its business leaders to share experiences and knowledge with their peers in the region, as well as participate in joint projects and high-level dialogues that promote sustainable socioeconomic development of the countries that make up the Alliance" , pointed out Rocío Velarde, President of the Board of AMCHAM Quito.

"The integration of the private sector of Ecuador to the Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy, is an important step in its commitment to economic progress, democracy and the promotion of investment and cooperation with key partner countries in the chains of supply," said the president of the Business Council of the Alliance for Development in Democracy, Steven Puig.

"We are sure that the active participation of Ecuador's business leaders will significantly contribute to strengthening the Business Council and the strategic coordination of actions that promote the development of our nations," said Nery Merejildo, Chairman of the Board of AMCHAM Guayaquil.

For his part, Robert Moss, President of the Business Council of the Alliance for Development Ecuador, said that the private sector is the engine of development of nations "this opportunity to join efforts among the private sector of our nations, where we together promote development in Democracy, an environment of greater well-being and let's aim together for sustainable, fair and inclusive development, is unique and we must take advantage of it”.
