The American Chamber of Commerce of the Dominican Republic, with the support of several institutions, is organizing the first Renewable Energy Business Forum to promote the sales
of renewable energy products and equipment, as well as investment in production of renewable energy.

U.S. Dominican Republic-Central American free Trade Agreement (DR- CAFTA): provides the elimination of customs duties for over 4,000 products and gradual elimination on the custom
duties of others.
General Electricity Law 125-01:
provides preferential treatment for companies that generate electricity from renewable energy.
Renewable Energy Incentives Law (57-07): provides incentives to businesses developing renewable
energy technologies, which includes exemptions from taxation on imported inputs and on profits for 10 years up to the year 2020.
